Recognising our unique commitment to the education community, and to UK Higher and Further Education in particular, Eduserv provides each of the components within the OpenAthens framework to an institution for a single price.

Institutions can choose between OpenAthens MD and OpenAthens LA for identity and entitlement management as well as OpenAthens SP to provide access management for their applications.

This means that you can provide users with single sign-on to both internal applications such as a virtual learning environment (VLE) and external resources such as journals and e-books subscribed to by their libraries.

Using OpenAthens SP to control access to your internal applications, you can also enable interaction and collaboration with other institutions, whether local or international, who have adopted either Athens or SAML standards.

Finally, you can be confident that the OpenAthens modular platform architecture will be able to accomodate new and emerging identity management protocols, such as OpenID and Information Cards.

Our pricing model for the bundle of OpenAthens framework components (OpenAthens MD, LA and SP) is based on current JISC bands. This is available exclusively to UK universities and colleges for an annual fee paid in advance of August 1st each year.
