OpenAthens MD (formerly Classic Athens)

OpenAthens MD is a fully-managed service that provides organisations with the tools to manage user identity information and control its release for user single sign-on access to protected web resources.

OpenAthens MD builds on the benefits of the Athens service by adding support for the Shibboleth implementation of SAML allowing access to services available through federations such as the UK Access Management Federation.

OpenAthens MD offers:

If you are a UK university or college OpenAthens MD is available by special subscription on an annual basis running from July 31 - Aug 1 each year.
