Eduserv's OpenAthens framework of products and services provides an architecture for managing access and managing identity.

Getting started with identity management

If you'd like to begin using our identity management solution to provide access for users to resources that are already available (Athens-protected resources) you'll need to:

Review the appropriate pages under the products and services section

OpenAthens MD if you will be using Eduserv's managed directory to hold identities for authenticating users, or
OpenAthens LA if you will be using your own internal directory for authenticating users

Complete the registration form (ensuring you comply with and agree to the associated terms and conditions)
Once you receive email confirmation of your organisation identifier, provide this to the owners of the resources to which your organisation has negotiated access, or if you are a member of a federation then see the Working with Federations section
Start registering your users' identities (you can bulk upload them) and allocate them access to resources as appropriate
Finally, if you want a quick and easy means of tailoring your users' experience of accessing resources take a look at MyAthens, a free, configurable interface for your organisation to guide users to access both subscription and non-subscription resources.

Getting started with access management

If you'd like an access management solution to control access to your internal applications or electronic resources that you want external organisations/individuals to be able to access, you'll need to:

Review the OpenAthens SP pages in the products and services section
Review the OpenAthens SP terms and conditions
Complete the registration form and request a quotation

Once a contract and payment terms have been agreed, you will be provided with administrator, technical support and download access for the OpenAthens SP software.
