Personal account administration changes - Update
Further to our message of 4th December, and listening to the feedback we have received, particularly at our User Groups held before Christmas, we are now pleased to be improving your usability of the Athens service by confirming that the following functionality will be released on Tuesday 29th January.
We believe that this new functionality will provide increased security and reduce the workload for administrators as part of our ongoing commitment to the development of the services we provide to the Athens community.
- Change email address
We have added an option in the administration area, under the MyAthens section, enabling administrators to disable this if they wish.
- Forgotten passwords
AthensDA users have no Athens passwords to change and some additional text has been provided in the 'Reset forgotten password' page to avoid confusion. This facility will be available from the Login Help page.
- Account activation
This functionality has also been added to the Bulk Upload facility and is optional; accounts may still be created the traditional way if desired both via the Administration site and bulk upload.
If you have any queries regarding the above, or have any other thoughts or comments that would help us continue to develop the service for you, then please do not hesitate to contact us.
