Athens to UK Federation Gateway (beta version) now ready!

Eduserv is pleased to announce the availability of the beta Athens to UK Federation Gateway. This is the latest element in the Shibboleth®/Athens Interoperability programme agreed with the JISC. This beta Gateway enables organisations using the Athens service as an outsourced identity provider (IdP) to access resources registered with the UK Access Management Federation for Education and Research. A full list of these is available at http://www.sdss.ac.uk/.

Before your organisation can use the beta Gateway to access services in the UK Federation, it must first apply for membership of the federation. Unless you are a member of the SDSS federation, the earliest that organizations can apply for membership will be 30 November 2006. More information will be available from that date on the UK Federation’s web site at http://www.ukfederation.org.uk/
