Athens wins JISC UK HE and FE contract

Eduserv has been awarded the JISC contract to provide an Access Management service for UK Higher and Further Education for a further three year period, from 1st August 2003.

EduServ are delighted to be able to continue providing this valuable Access Management service for UK Education and we are looking forward to working further with the JISC to improve information availability, security, and systems compatibility, developing the service for the community. We are confident that with our joint experience and knowledge we will be able to deliver on these objectives. This contract is key to ensuring stability for institutions while maintaining a strong development programme.

Athens has over 2 million users, over 800 organisations and protects over 250 online resources, a result of its commitment to supply a leading edge service, user support and services worldwide.

We will continue developing our Devolved Authentication technology and Shibboleth compliance while maintaining and strengthening the Athens core service. By integrating and applying these new technologies Athens will enable sites to choose their preferred mode of access management.
