SAML Support in Athens

Athens currently supports SAML 1.0 to 2.0; this is available through a 'SAML gateway' to Athens resource providers. This means that is is possible to connect SAML-compliant identity providers to Athens resources via this gateway.

Integration documentation is currently available for Novell iChain (please refer to our iChain/Athens Integration document and to the Novell product page on iChain). This describes how organisations who use iChain for local resource access can setup access to Athens resources through the iChain SAML Extension (see Novell product page on SAML extension), using the Athens SAML gateway.

Other SAML-compliant products should work in a similar way, but are not currently supported.
