How do accounts expire?

It is possible to set an expiry date for a username and/or password for all types of accounts when they are created. The user will not be able to use the account beyond the expiry date. An 'expired' account remains on the list of accounts until it is deleted. Expired accounts can be reinstated by the administrator by entering a new date in the relevant field.
