The Eduserv Athens Access Management System (AMS) simplifies access to your organisation’s electronic resources. With a single username and password, your users can have single sign-on access to hundreds of online resources, many of which are portals that provide further access to hundreds of databases and tens of thousands of journals.

Products and services for identity access management :

• Classic Athens

  Provides organisations with the tools necessary to create and manage usernames for single sign-on access to protected web resources. This is a managed service complete with full infrastructure and substantive Service Level Agreement.

• Federated access

  Provides a method of connecting various Shibboleth entities to the Athens Identity and Access Management service:

  • The Shibboleth to Athens Gateway allows organisations to use their Shibboleth Identity Provider for access to Athens protected resources.
  • The Athens to UK Federation Gateway allows organisations who use Classic Athens or AthensDA to connect to Shibboleth protected resources.

   

• Local authentication

  Provides organisations with the integration tools necessary to utilise the organisation's own repository of usernames and attribute information for access to Athens protected resources. This option is offered with full documentation and support for a range of integration methods:

• AthensDA
• SAML
