How do I join the UK Access Management Federation using OpenAthens?

The first step is to nominate Eduserv as your outsourced Shibboleth identity provider. A formal letter of application must be sent to the UK Access Management Federation on your institution's letterhead and to help make this process easier, there is a function in your Athens administration site:

On the Housekeeping menu select OpenAthens and you will find a form to complete. The page will email you a template you can use for the letter to the federation operator containing all the necessary details and will automatically register that same information with us.
