OpenAthens and Athens for Learners and Researchers

Eduserv’s OpenAthens products and services enable your organisation - such as your university, college or employer - to provide you with single sign-on to the online resources and services to which they have subscribed.

The resources that you can access in this way have been set up, and in the case of many commercial, published resources (such as online journals, e-books and databases) have been paid for by your organisation. Eduserv OpenAthens/Athens does not provide any electronic resources, but we do make it easier to access them!

If you're having trouble accessing resources through your organisation's pages or the MyAthens portal, or if you've lost your username and password, please speak to the relevant department at your organisation - if you are at a university or college, this is likely to be your library. Eduserv does not own or manage the resources you need to access.

Using MyAthens

MyAthens is an easy-to-use, customisable, panel-based interface that enables you to navigate the resources your organisation has given you access to as well as other resources on the internet that you might want to use as part of your learning or research. Find out how to access your resources using MyAthens and download the MyAthens toolbar.

Just as you can customise MyAthens for your needs, so your organisation can customise it for all of its users. Below is a standard landing screen for MyAthens. Yours will be similar, but the panels and their contents may have already been tailored by your organisation.
